My first and ever D.Y.I Poodle skirt..

As I've already mentioned before (raises hand) I'm a procrastinator. Miss "T" was invited to a 1950's party and I was well aware of this invite since February SMH!. So of course,  the week before I knew it was gonna take place. It was to late to order anything and finding something in the store just really wasn't a option because I refused to spend money on something she would only wear once or spend that much money on what they were trying to make me spend on a costume.
After watching a few YouTube videos and searching online for ideas. I said I was just gonna make it myself. Now let me just tell you, besides sewing on a button or a little hole in my shirt,  I can't sew to save my life!!! I don't even have a sewing machine! As a matter of a fact to even sew on my loose buttons,  I use a sewing kit I purchased from the Dollar store and just to be fair,  I'm talking about the Dollar Tree, you know where everything is a dollar!
First,  I tried the thrift store but couldn't find anything except a t-shirt that I could apply the poodle applique. Then, I went to my local fabric store and purchased 2 yards of fabric, 2 poodle appliques (1 big and 1 small poodle) and some elastic for the waist. This project seemed so intimidating to me because I've never done something this big in sewing before. I found a really simple no sew circle skirt video and that was right up my alley. After measuring and cutting I went to Payless and found  some Saddle shoes and I got the jacket "Pink Lady" at the Party store. I did her hair in a beehive....Here's the final results: ( We forgot to put on the belt).
